Scholarship for undergraduate students attending a college or university in Alabama or Georgia who are pursuing a degree in Music. Students must submit a cassette tape or CD containing melody and improvisation in three styles: medium swing - one chorus head, three chorus solo, bossa nova or contemporary straight eighths - one chorus head, two chorus solo, or ballad - one chorus head, one chorus solo; drummers should alternate between eight bars of time and eight bars of improvisation in the first two styles listed and play 16 bars of time in a ballad style. Due date may vary. Nonrenewable.
